Argentina Mendoza
Rated 94 - The 2005 Unus is 65% Malbec and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon from the same 77 year old vineyard. The wine was aged for 16 months in 100% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Inky purple, it has a super-expressive perfume of toasty oak, pencil lead, cocoa, plum, and black cherry. Medium to full-bodied, plush, and full-flavored, this concentrated, well-balanced effort will improve with another 6 - 8 years in the bottle and provide pleasure through 2030. Robert Parker

Argentina Mendoza
Rated 98 - Inky, blue/black in color, it offers up aromas of pain grille, violets, truffle, black cherry, blueberry, and licorice. Round, layered, and full-bodied, the wine is surprisingly elegant and light on its feet for such a concentrated wine. The long, fruit-filled finish lasts for over one minute. Allow 6-8 years of further cellaring and drink it through 2035. Robert Parker

Decent nose with strawberries and cherries. Smooth mouth feel. Initial strawberries and cherries again with a spicy kick in the middle and a dry finish with a hint green grass, maybe a little mint. Interesting, well worth the price. This wine would go great with food. - Cork'd

Argentina Mendoza
Rated 96 Nearly black in color, it coasts the glass with glycerin. Its super aromas of violets, spice box, cedar, tobacco, espresso, black cherry, and black raspberry leap from the glass. The wine is full-bodied, concentrated, and possesses layers of complex flavors. This hedonistic effort will benefit from at least 4-6 years of cellaring and should drink well through 2025.
